The work in Liberia

The Cheale family worked and lived in Liberia for many years before returning to the UK and Peppard Congregational Church. Subsequently the Church has a very close association and links with West Africa and especially Liberia.
The Church has organised and sent several containers of items, to support and help our Liberian friends.

The last container sent to Liberia contained donated clothing, books, cooking utensils, computers and other items including a large electrical generator and marquee capable of holding 600 people.

This container arrived in Liberia in December 1998 and was followed by a visit to Liberia by Phil and Gordon, to provide guidance with the equipment installations and gain understandings of the needs, requirements and requests for further items and ongoing support for future shipments.

 A completely full aid container left the Church in February 2006 for Liberia. A thank you to everybody who helped and supported this project.

The Church is planning its next container shipment to Liberia NOW.
Rev. Phil Cheale our pastor has worked in Liberia and clearly understands the country's requirements, and how to safely import the container into the country to reach its designated recipients. The shipments contain any items that can offer practical help these include;
Clothing, Tools, Books, Soap etc., Cooking utensils and items to sell in markets. The Church is linked to the Cheale Vocational College so computers (of any specification), printers, peripherals, educational equipment have and can be sent.

If you feel you have any items, or support you would like to donate to Liberia please feel free to contact the Church Office on
